The digital worker – your future colleague
Humans and ‘digital workers’, engaging side-by-side, working collaboratively. This is the future workplace reality. Movies have depicted this. Media validates. I predict the same.
So what do I mean by ‘digital workers’? Autonomous, human-centric machines that can mirror, and relieve employees from repetitive operations.
As organisations continue to transform, executives must emphasise building strategies that can incorporate both human talent, and autonomous technologies that will shape an efficient and productive workplace.
Leaders must take the necessary steps towards this inevitable future. In doing so they will ensure employees can harness emerging technology effectively.
It is understandable that current employees may feel uncertain about what the impact of technology will have on them in the future, I believe that it will be one of augmentation, rather than replacement.
In fact, I see it having a positive impact on current employees, as ‘digital workers’ will relieve them of the repetitive, cumbersome work that drains hours out of their day. Focus for employees can be shifted towards value creation, through ingenuity and creativity.
How will ‘digital workers’ affect your operations?
